Miracle Wheeler has always been a pillar of strength and compassion in the Fox Valley community. Alongside her husband Dee (who leads the nonprofit Heart of Gold), Miracle dedicates countless hours to supporting our vulnerable neighbors and organizing mutual aid resources through their housing program, Mountains of Hope. Her work is inspired by her own journey and the memory of her late child, making her commitment to helping others deeply personal and heartfelt. Miracle and Dee are raising four children: a 7-month-old, a 2-year-old, a 6-year-old, an 11-year-old, and one child in heaven.

Tragically, Miracle, Dee, and their family were displaced when a devastating tornado tore through the area on July 27, destroying their home. The upper floors were crushed, the frame exposed, and their entire living space left open to the elements. Almost everything inside, from clothes and furniture to daily essentials, was ruined or unsafe to retrieve. They are starting over from total scratch, facing the overwhelming challenge of finding stable housing and meeting their basic needs. While they wait to see if any belongings can be salvaged, the immediate priority is securing safe temporary lodging, replacing lost clothing and essentials, covering transportation costs, and providing daily meals for the family.

Every dollar raised will help keep Miracle’s family safe, clothed, and moving forward as they navigate this crisis. Funds will go directly toward emergency housing, basic necessities, transportation, and rebuilding expenses.
