Support a family of five located in Minneapolis in paying their lawyer fees in order to take the final steps in finalizing their asylum case and securing them work visas.

Two sisters in their early 20s who came to Minneapolis from Ecuador a little over a year ago with their partners and young daughters have been working tirelessly to build a life for themselves and their children here.

They have faced unrelenting adversity since their arrival which intensified under ICE's occupation and have been living with constant fear, feelings of hopelessness, and minimal connections with community. Despite this, they've demonstrated admirable resilience and tenacity, giving everything they can to their children and going out to work at every possible opportunity, despite the associated risk.

One of the sister's partners was abducted in December and held in detention for months with no communication, until he was deported a few weeks ago. Her and her daughter don't know when they will see him next and he is greatly missed in their home.

The three adults in the home have pending asylum status and work visas awaiting them, but they are unable to pay their lawyer in order to secure these documents and begin to search more consistent, reliable and safe work opportunities. Being able to take these steps and pay these bills would be life changing for this family.

To make things worse, they were suddenly removed from their housing this week and forced to urgently seek new housing, where they loaded up all their stuff into a friends car to head to an entirely new neighborhood.
