Help Mindy and Her Family Fight Leukemia

With heavy hearts, we want to share that Mindy passed away late last night, April 27, 2025. Due to the circumstances surrounding her final hours, we are comforted to know that she was not in pain and was unaware at the end.

As all of you know, Mindy was a Jehovah’s Witness and held firmly to the beautiful hope found in Revelation 21:3,4—that one day, pain, suffering, and even death will be no more. Her faith was a source of strength throughout this journey, and we take solace in the peace she now has.

We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time. We would like all to know that donations will now also help cover the unexpected expenses related to her passing, including memorial arrangements, as well as grief counseling for family and friends. In addition, any remaining funds will go toward supporting her young granddaughter as she begins to navigate life without her.

Hi everyone,

Our beloved friend, mother, aunt, & cousin, Mindy, was recently diagnosed with leukemia. As you can imagine, this has turned her world—and her family’s—upside down. She will be receiving treatment at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), and this journey is going to be a long and challenging one.

Her treatment will require a minimum hospital stay of 30 to 45 days, possibly longer, depending on how her body responds. During this time, her family will be traveling back and forth to Portland to support her every step of the way, and we want to make sure they can focus entirely on her care without the added stress of financial burdens.

We are setting up this GoFundMe to help cover the essential expenses for Mindy’s support team—her children, grandchild, family members, and loved ones who will be by her side throughout this process. These funds will go toward:

- Travel costs (gas, parking, etc.)

- Temporary housing while in Portland

- Meals during hospital stays

- Any other day-to-day expenses that arise while they support her through treatment

We want everyone who donates to feel confident that their generosity is being handled responsibly. A clear record of expenses will be maintained, with receipts and documentation kept for transparency and accountability.
