Help Mike Standen Get Back on the Road
As some of you may know—but some may not—there was a high-speed car chase in town recently that ended near Stumpfield and Leonard Road. The individual responsible for this reckless event began his crime spree by stealing my father's truck before tearing through town, catching the attention of both the Sheriff’s Department and CHP as he sped down Main Street. During the chase, he nearly hit someone turning toward the fairgrounds.
Thankfully, no one was injured or killed—that’s my father’s only concern. Since then, he has been working to restore his old 1969 Chevrolet short-bed step-side truck to make it roadworthy again. It needs some TLC to do this, and through this GoFundMe, we’re hoping to gather a little support.
If you’ve ever met my father, you know he’s a good man—someone this community has been able to count on for decades. A devoted Christian and a selfless volunteer, he has always given his time and energy to Mariposa with love. In fact, while all of this was unfolding, he was in the middle of doing volunteer weed-eating work around the Mariposa Museum for a community event.
If you’re able to contribute, any amount would be deeply appreciated. And if donating isn’t possible, a prayer for Mike is just as valuable. Thank you all for your support!
