My name is Kim Niehouse and I'm starting this fundraiser because my brother, Michael Cook, is battling Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma that has shown resistance to his first line of treatment, which was POLA-RCHP. He will need further chemotherapy treatment to prepare for possible CAR-T Cell Therapy at Fred Hutch in Seattle.
This battle has already been a tremendous financial strain on us as we share housing. Mike has worked for Silvana Plumbing for 18 years. With Mike not able to work and the urgency of the care he needs, we need to figure out a way to pay rent as well as other bills.
Treatment at Fred Hutch means traveling there from Arlington, which is an hour drive each way, parking fees, missed time at work for me, and I don't drive at night in unfamiliar places. I also have my oldest son who lives with us and does not drive, and I pick him up from work often. And I have my dog, Oliver, who can't be left for long as he needs to go out and also needs to be with people.
Times ahead are unsure, unsteady, and stressful. Mike's portion of the rent is $1,500.00 a month. If you can help us, please donate! Please share this fundraiser as well!
Thank you so much!
