For over 45 years, Miguel Araujo has been a pillar of the San Bruno community.

Since 1980, his restaurant, Araujo’s, was more than a place to eat—it was a gathering place, a refuge, and a source of support for people who needed a chance. Through the restaurant, Miguel hired individuals facing hardship and used his own earnings to fund community work, advocacy, and outreach.

Miguel is also well known for hosting the radio program “Hablemos Claro” on 1010 AM, where he gave voice to community concerns. Through his organization, Centro Azteca, he has spent decades advocating for immigrant rights—traveling to Sacramento, working with legislators, and lobbying the Governor to fight for policies that protect and uplift our community.

This work was not funded by grants or big donors.

It was funded by Miguel himself—through his restaurant.

Now Miguel Needs Our Help

Over the past year, Miguel has been fighting to save Araujo’s. Despite his efforts, the restaurant has been foreclosed on. He continues to speak with lending agencies regarding the foreclosure, but he is now focused on the next chapter: opening a new restaurant and rebuilding his livelihood.

To do this, Miguel needs support to:

Ayuda a Miguel Araujo a Reconstruir un Legado Comunitario

Durante más de 45 años, Miguel Araujo ha sido un pilar de la comunidad de San Bruno.

Desde 1980, su restaurante, Araujo’s, fue más que un lugar para comer: fue un punto de encuentro, un refugio y una fuente de apoyo para personas que necesitaban una oportunidad. A través del restaurante, Miguel dio empleo a personas que enfrentaban dificultades y utilizó sus propios ingresos para financiar trabajo comunitario, defensa de derechos y labores de alcance social.

Miguel también es ampliamente conocido por conducir el programa de radio “Hablemos Claro” en la 1010 AM, donde dio voz a las preocupaciones de la comunidad. A través de su organización, Centro Azteca, ha dedicado décadas a defender los derechos de los inmigrantes—viajando a Sacramento, trabajando con legisladores y cabildeando ante el Gobernador para luchar por políticas que protejan y fortalezcan a nuestra comunidad.

Este trabajo no fue financiado por subvenciones ni grandes donantes. Fue financiado por el propio Miguel—por medio de su restaurante.

Ahora Miguel Necesita Nuestra Ayuda

Durante el último año, Miguel ha luchado incansablemente para salvar Araujo’s. A pesar de sus esfuerzos, el restaurante fue embargado. Aunque continúa en conversaciones con las agencias de financiamiento respecto al embargo, ahora está enfocado en el próximo capítulo: abrir un nuevo restaurante y reconstruir su sustento.

Para lograrlo, Miguel necesita apoyo para:

Estabilizar sus gastos personales básicos durante este momento crítico
