Help Michelle Gain Custody

Hello my name is Jill and I’m starting this GoFund Me for my mother Michelle to assist with her battle to gain custody of my niece. I want to start by saying that this is in all honesty the only option left to hopefully put to bed this battle we have been silently facing for three years now. It is not easy to have to make this so public.

My mother has been caring for my niece and her sister for the last 5 years. She has cared for them financially, physically and emotionally. The burden has been on Michelle solely.

The girls mother has taken advantage of Michelle time and time again by using the children as human pawns to manipulate and extort my mother.

Michelle has been assaulted by this woman, her property has been damaged, and she’s had things stolen. There has been 3 open Child Services investigations into this woman. If I could give more explanation into what we have suffered the last 3 years I would, but to ensure safety a lot of our story has to be withheld.

At this point in time my niece has been removed, by her mother, from Michelle’s house. Michelle’s home is the only house my niece has ever known. We do not know where she is at this time. Because she is with her mother, there is nothing we can do, our hands are tied and if CPS won’t remove her from her mother, than our only option to see her and ensure her safety is for Michelle to hire a lawyer and sue for custody. Michelle has consulted with a lawyer and it was a positive meeting and we were lead to believe that she would be successful in gaining a solid custody arrangement.

Financially this would cost about $5,000 to accomplish.

Michelle has been a one woman show financially and doesn’t have the savings to accomplish this on her own. Due to high interest rates a loan wouldn’t be a viable option for her either.

I have personally given her enough money to ensure a deposit for the lawyer and if I had the rest I would give it to her myself, I just can’t make it happen on my own.

I am very aware that it is tough for a lot of people financially, but this lawyer is the only way to ensure my nieces safety and well being emotionally and physically. This little girl deserves so much more stability in her life. Michelle has already been providing that for her and gaining custody will ensure that my nieces mother will not be able to continue to emotionally and financially neglect her any longer. Before Michelle was blocked from communication, my nieces teachers had already commented that there was a change in her normal behavior after just one day removed from her home.

If you have gotten this far and are willing to donate, no sum is too small. Even a dollar gets us one step closer to bring my niece home. We are utterly heartbroken and fearful of what kind of environment my niece is in while in her mother’s care.
