10 years ago, after a long fight with the US healthcare system, my mother Michelle was diagnosed with CIDP (chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy). Her immune system attacks her peripheral nerves, similar multiple sclerosis. Due to the time it took to get diagnosed and a begin treatment, she has permanent nerve damage. She deals with debilitating weakness and pain 24 hours a day.
Weekly subcutaneous immunoglobulin treatments has been successful in keeping her from getting worse, but it hasn't brought her closer to remission nor has it relieved her suffering. There is the constant worry that it may affect her ability to breathe and walk. Our hope is that stem cell therapy may help, as it has shown promise with cases like hers. I sincerely hope she can have a success story like others have had .
I have lived with and helped my mother for the entire time she's been ill. To see her suffering everyday and not being able to make it better has been a heavy weight on my heart for so, so long.
All donated funds will go to further treatment. It would be incredible to be able to have her receive therapy close to home, as we're lucky enough to have options here in Las Vegas.
Thank you. ❤️
