Michele is not only a client of my interior design company, but she has also become a dear friend. Hi, I’m Susie with Susie Fitler Homes. A couple of months ago, while we were working together on her home decor, Michele received the devastating news that she had a cancerous brain tumor. The diagnosis came as a total shock, and everything changed in an instant. Michele and her family, who had been so excited about creating a welcoming space, suddenly had to put their plans on hold and focus all their energy and resources on her health and medical care.

Despite these challenges, Michele and her family have shown incredible faith and resilience, choosing hope. They surrendered everything they have to the Lord and found contentment with the few things they still had, grateful for the home they built and willing to wait on the extras.

Witnessing their strength and grace inspired me to offer my time and expertise to help them finish Phase 1 of their remodel. I long for Michele and the whole family to feel safe and held as though God himself were preparing a healing space just for them! After all this is Christmas when we celebrate Immanuel—God with us!

My hope is that others will also feel led to support Michele and her family during this season, so they can have a cozy and comfortable home while navigating the road ahead.

The funds raised will go directly toward completing Michele's main living areas—her living room, dining room, and family/great room with furnishings, window tretments, rugs, accessories and some weatherproof outdoor lighting. This support will allow Michele and her family to focus on overseeing construction and managing her ongoing medical needs, without the added stress of unfinished spaces. One of my favorite things in the design world is getting to help those who are in a unique spot in their story—whether health or unforeseen, difficult circumstances. It’s a joy to participate in the greater story unfolding: Love coming down and God using ordinary people to love and meet practical needs.

Susie Fitler Homes will do our best to creatively source through Facebook Marketplace, IKEA, and Homegoods, just as we do with clients, to help get the look for less.
