Hello! My name is Erica Fellner and I have had the honor of calling Michele (Richards) Shapiro my Sister, friend, teacher, confident and cheerleader for very nearly 40 years now. To say that I adore her would be the understatement of the millenia.

To know Michele is to love her. Few have worked as hard in this life as she. Few have sacrificed as much as she. And few have given of themselves to the extent that she has, to ANYONE in need. She's always there with a generous heart, a loving embrace and honest advice, guidance and feedback...even it's "tough love". LOL.

Michele and her children are no strangers to hardships...infact, they may have seen more of their fair share than most. Thus the purpose of this Go Fund Me.

Michele recently lost her Beloved Ira, leaving a gaping hole in her heart and her world. Their home has needed some repairs for quite a while now. Ira's illness put those repairs on hold. However those repairs have been forced into an emergent need as now Michele's brilliant daughter Jane is living with her.

As you may know, Jane suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis and has only recently become wheelchair bound. Thus needing additional modifications to their home to make her life easier and to give her some independence at still being able to care for herself.

This drastic change in lifestyle has been especially difficult for Jane as she is exactly like her mother; fiercely independent, a lover of nature, of animals and not at all comfortable with asking for nor accepting assistance. Like I said, she's exactly like Michele!!!

James Gurney, author of Dinotopia wrote, "Survival of all or none. One raindrop raises the sea..." Wouldn't it be a wonderful thing if we as a community of Michele's friends, loved one's and family could raise their sea? If we all dropped a raindrop into their ocean and helped get enough funds together to give Jane a handicapped accessible bathroom, give Michele the siding their home needs, just raise a bit of money to help take some of the pressure off??

I personally can't afford much. But if we add my donation to other donations, they'll be larger and able to make a larger impact.
