My brother-in-law, Michael Williams, has recently endured a devastating medical emergency that has left him facing an unimaginable road ahead. After undergoing emergency surgery for a detaching retina, Mike developed a severe eye infection in his left eye. What should have been an easy recovery quickly turned into a nightmare. For two weeks, he followed the treatment plan provided by his surgery team, but when there was no improvement, he went to the ER at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. There, he received the heartbreaking news that his eyesight was gone and his eye would have to be removed.
Mike then underwent surgery to remove his eye, and while the procedure went well, the recovery will be long and challenging—lasting up to a year or more. On top of the physical and emotional toll, he is now learning to adapt to daily life with limited depth perception, which affects everything from driving to simply caring for himself.
This unexpected hardship has also created a heavy financial burden. Mike is unable to work while healing, and the medical bills, household expenses, and cost of adjusting to his new way of life are overwhelming.
Mike has always been someone who puts others first, and now it’s our turn to stand by him. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping him cover these expenses and focus on his recovery. Your generosity, prayers, and support mean more than words can express.
