My mom received a phone call last Saturday that my stepdad got into a motorcycle accident. Since then, the injuries he sustained have left him unable to eat or walk on his own. I'm confident that Mikey will recover, but we can't do it on our own.

Mikey works day in and day out to provide for his family. He has spent most of his life on the road making sure his children don't go hungry. He has missed countless holidays, birthdays, and celebrations to help my mom keep us afloat. Unfortunately, there is no way he can continue working in this condition, and as the owner-operator of his own business, he faces the very real danger that the business will shut down while he is healing from his injuries.

My stepdad was always the first to come to someone else's aid—to offer a place to stay, a bite to eat, or to volunteer his time for another. As a devoted husband, loving father, and generous friend, I struggle to think of a person more deserving of your help.
