Help Michael & Kara adopt their baby!

Hi friends & family!

I created this fundraiser for a wonderful couple, my sister Kara and brother-in-law Michael. Thank you for taking the time to read about their story and hear their heart for adoption and their desire to love and raise a child.

Michael and Kara were married in 2010 and shortly thereafter Kara had a carotid artery dissection, which left her at risk to get pregnant. They were advised to wait at least a year before trying to get pregnant, and were told it would always be a high-risk pregnancy. After waiting for a few years, they decided to begin trying to conceive. They began trying 7-8 years ago and have struggled with infertility. They tried different medications and treatments over these past years, all to no avail.

They also have known for quite some time that they wanted to adopt. God placed it strongly on their hearts. Also, Michael is adopted and will have this unique and meaningful connection and understanding with their adopted child.

Initially, they thought they might conceive a child first and then adopt, but God has different plans, and they are excited about that. They know this is the time to adopt their baby! They have now decided to move forward with adoption and are currently active with 6 agencies. They could be matched any day now! They could be chosen at any time and funds to support the expecting mom and baby would be needed immediately.

Michael and Kara are such a wonderfully kind, giving, God-loving couple who yearn to nurture and sow love into a child. I know they will love the child with all their hearts and support and cheer them on and be their greatest advocates.

I decided to start this GoFundMe page to help them with the adoption cost because adoption is so expensive. They explained to me why the cost to adopt on average is 45,000+ -- the agency fees, expectant/birth parent care, medical expenses for mother and baby, legal fees, post placement, finalization & more. Any amount donated will go directly to helping with these fees and costs of adoption.
