Michael has been a familiar face at the light on Orange Ave in front of Sheetz for years. I first noticed him three years ago, always sitting in the same spot, smiling and waving at everyone who passed by. Despite facing homelessness since 2018, Michael’s positivity and kindness have touched countless people in our community. Today, I finally stopped to introduce myself and get to know him a little better. His spirit and warmth, even when he has so little, truly inspired me.

After sharing a video of our meeting, I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and encouragement from others who have also been moved by Michael’s presence. Many people reached out, asking how they could help and suggesting we start a GoFundMe to give Michael the support he deserves. It’s clear that Michael has made a difference in many lives, simply by being himself and spreading joy every day.
