Help Michael, a veteran & his service dog Duke
Donation protected
Michael is a homeless vet who served 12 years in the army. After serving in Iraq, he suffered from PTSD and epilepsy. His therapist recommended he get a service dog, which is how he and Duke got together.
Around last Christmas, they got kicked out of their apartment whose management instituted a new rule to prohibit any animal over 60 lbs. Michael could have given up Duke, but he didn't want to be "that sort of a person who gives up his best friend who has saved him so many times. What type of a person would I be if I dumped him at a shelter?"
They now camp, and until Covid 19, he worked on construction sites and as day laborer, but obviously that has dried up.
He is incredibly warm, eloquent, humble, and positive despite everything that has happened, and Duke is just adorable. Could you please help by donating what you can, so they can have a bit of stability in their lives?
Thanks for your consideration!
