Life can change in an instant, and for my friend Sarah and her family, everything has been turned upside down.

Sarah is one of the most kind hearted, selfless people you could ever meet. A devoted single mum to six beautiful children, she works tirelessly running Mamma’s and a catering business, always putting others before herself. If someone is in need, Sarah is the first to show up with help, kindness, and a smile.

Now, she needs our help.

Her 13 year old daughter, Mia, was recently rushed to hospital with a severe headache. After tests and uncertainty, the devastating news came Mia has a large brain tumor.

Next week, Mia will undergo major surgery to try and remove the tumor. There is a possibility she may need a second operation, followed by at least four weeks of recovery in Sick Kids Edinburgh. After that, Mia and Sarah will have to relocate to Manchester for six weeks of intensive radiotherapy, with the possibility of further treatment beyond that.

This is every parent’s worst nightmare.

Sarah will be by Mia’s side every step of the way, as any loving mum would be. But this means she won’t be able to run her businesses or work as she normally does. The financial pressure is already building household bills, travel costs, accommodation, and the everyday expenses of caring for a large family don’t stop during times like this.

We are asking for help to ease that burden, so Sarah can focus on what truly matters being there for Mia as she faces the fight of her life.
