Mess Arts has always been more than a program to me. It is a youth arts community in Bywater where kids can make a beautiful mess, explore who they are, and know their ideas matter. After a difficult 2025 marked by burnout and funding losses, we are stepping into a new chapter with hope. I am honored to help lead that chapter as Kenneth "Kynt" Bryan, Artistic Director, as we work to revitalize Mess Arts and help it bloom again.

- Five years ago, Mess Arts started as a little seedling, nourished by families who kept coming back to our backyard in Bywater. Many of y’all have been with us since the beginning, and many more have joined along the way. At its heart, Mess Arts has always been about creating a third space for youth to play, experiment, express themselves, and make a beautiful mess. Excitingly, we are once again a seedling. As I work with Kynt in an advisory role and transition onto the board, we’re asking our community to come together and Phoenix with us - to reconnect, create, and build what comes next.

Our immediate goal is to launch three seasonal camps this fall during Fall Break, Thanksgiving, and Winter Break, serving 20 to 40 local youth. Our new curriculum brings together dance, visual arts, theater, gymnastics, and yoga so young people can build expression, confidence, and emotional resilience in a space that nurtures both mind and body. Funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward equipping our studio, providing reliable transportation for families, and offering scholarships so every child can participate regardless of zip code.
