Help the Merced County Sheriff’s Posse Represent Our Community at the 47th Presidential Inaugural Parade!

We are thrilled to announce that the Merced County Sheriff’s Posse has been invited to participate in the 47th Presidential Inaugural Parade on January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.!

This prestigious honor marks the fourth time our Posse has participated in a presidential inaugural parade and the fifth time representing our community in a significant national event. From our first appearance in 1971 for President Richard Nixon to the 1976 Bicentennial Celebration to the inaugurations of Presidents George W. Bush and Donald J. Trump, this tradition reflects our commitment to proudly representing Merced County and the Central Valley on a national stage.

During this monumental event, we will fly flags representing Central Valley Sheriff’s Offices from San Joaquin to Kern Counties, showcasing the unity and strength of our region. As ambassadors of goodwill, the Merced County Sheriff’s Posse has served our community since 1948, contributing to search and rescue efforts, public relations, and promoting the Merced County Sheriff's Office.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to honor our history, showcase our heritage, and represent Merced County, the Central Valley, and California as the nation’s capital.

However, this incredible journey requires significant funding to cover travel, lodging, transportation of horses and equipment, uniforms, and other expenses. We are contacting our community for support to make this dream a reality.
