Help Melissa Travel to S. Africa to Help Her Ailing Mother

For all of us that know and love Melissa, what really stands out is her true kindness and generosity towards others. She has touched so many lives with her thoughtful, empathetic approach to living, teaching, and giving, and we are all the better for it. She is chosen family to us and a most trusted friend. She is also a second mom, cherished playmate, and confidant to our daughters. We have supported each other through many life changes over the years, and this time we are reaching out to friends and family for extra support.

Melissa models her generosity and kindness from her mother, who dedicated her life in service to others and, up until recently, was a sought-after midwife in South Africa. Sadly, Melissa's mom suffered a catastrophic stroke a few weeks back, and Melissa has been working to get home to support her many needs. Her mother is alone with no other family in the area, and you can imagine how stressful it’s been knowing she has no support.

Because of the prohibitive costs of transportation and loss of income to get to South Africa, usually, this is something Melissa and her husband spend months saving up for. Her mom needs her now, though, and just as she has done for all of us through the years, Melissa plans on being there for her when she's needed most.

But that takes money that is not readily available. What she does have is the love and appreciation of all of us. This is a great opportunity to help a truly good and selfless person who has given so much to all of us and makes the world a better place every day with her presence. Please help us support Melissa so she can be with her mom in a time of great need. Every little bit helps.
