Melissa Azevedo has always been the kind of person who would do anything for anyone. As a self-employed massage therapist, she’s spent years helping others feel better and supporting her community. Recently, a devastating fire in Acushnet, MA destroyed the building where Melissa worked. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but what’s certain is that Melissa lost everything she needs for her livelihood in a single night. All of her expensive massage equipment perished in the fire, and because she works for herself, she’s now left without any income or a place to practice.

Melissa is now facing the enormous challenge of starting over. She needs to find a new rental space and replace all of her equipment so she can continue doing the work she loves and supporting herself. This process could take weeks or even months, and the financial burden is overwhelming.
