Support Melissa & Jeremy's MoMo Twin Journey
Donation protected
Hello everyone! I'm Jenn, Melissa's older sister. I'm reaching out to share some wonderful news: Melissa and Jeremy have just welcomed two beautiful little girls into our family: Addison Lee, weighing 3 lb 12 oz, and Harper Marie, at 3 lb 13 oz. They were born on Friday, December 20th, just shy of 33 weeks’ gestation. This pregnancy has been high-risk from the start. Addison and Harper are a rare type of identical twins known as MoMo twins (monochorionic monoamniotic), meaning they share both a placenta and an amniotic sac. This occurs in only about 1% of twin pregnancies and less than 0.1% of all pregnancies—what an incredible situation!
Due to the high-risk nature of this pregnancy, Melissa’s medical team had her stop working on November 3rd and admitted her to Mayo Methodist Hospital in Rochester on November 18th for continuous fetal monitoring until the girls were delivered via cesarean on December 20th. This specialized care has been vital for the girls’ health. It’s heartwarming to see how well Addison and Harper are doing in the NICU at Methodist, thanks to their amazing medical team! The girls are thriving and learning all the things that babies do. They are expected to stay in the NICU for 4-6 weeks, provided everything goes according to plan.
However, with Melissa being off work for some time and Jeremy commuting from Mankato to Rochester to keep his job and manage the household while taking unpaid leave, their financial situation has become challenging. In addition to the incoming medical bills, any support to help alleviate their financial strain during this critical time would mean the world to them. Your help will allow Melissa and Jeremy to focus solely on caring for Addison and Harper, ensuring they have the best possible start in life. Thank you for considering supporting this adorable family during their time of need!
