Help Meghan Get Her Happy Place Back

Please, help Meghan get her pool back!

My name is Tara McLaughlin and I'm stepping way out of my comfort zone and asking for help-for my sweet 8-year-old daughter, Meghan.

Meghan is autistic and anyone who knows her knows how much she LOVES swimming. Her pool is her happy place. It's where she feels calm, free, and full of joy.

At the beginning of this summer, our wonderful neighbors gifted us their above-ground pool. It was bigger than the one we had, and I was so excited to give Meghan an upgrade. We paid it forward and gave our old pool to another family, and got to work preparing the yard for the new one.

What I didn't realize was how much time, energy, and money it would take to make it all work. I hired someone to level the ground, made multiple trips to Menards, and spent two long days in the hot sun taking the pool down at the neighbors' house and setting it up again in our yard.

Finally, we started to fill it— only to discover it had some leaks. We were devastated.

I'm still so thankful to our generous neighbors, but now Meghan is without the one thing she loves more than anything in the summer: her pool. I didn't realize how expensive this would become, or that we'd end up needing a new, more manageable pool after all.

So l'm asking for help to get a new pool for Meghan-a pool that's the right size for her and something I can maintain. Any amount, any share, means the world to us.
