Someone in our community needs our support! Early in the morning on January 16 at 5:00 a.m., a member of our community was at home when she heard a commotion outside. ICE was at her neighbors' home, detaining the parents and leaving behind three very young children, ages 1, 3, and 4, alone and frightened.
Without hesitation, this person stepped in and brought the children into her home to keep them safe. In a split-second act of compassion, she is now their legal guardian and is responsible for meeting all of their needs, including diapers, clothing, food, and childcare.
As you can imagine, this sudden responsibility comes with a significant personal and financial cost. Now is the time for our community to come together and do what we do best: support each other.
If you are able, please consider helping this community member support these three children by donating what you can. (Her name is left out for her safety and privacy.)
