Meals for Friends is a local program dedicated to ensuring that elderly and disabled individuals in Churchill, Forest Hills, Penn Hills, and Wilkins receive hot, nutritious meals several days a week. Our kitchen, located at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, is the heart of our operation, where volunteers prepare and deliver meals to those who need them most. For many of our patrons, these meals are not just nourishment—they are a vital connection to the community and a source of comfort.

Recently, we've encountered a challenge that puts our ability to serve at risk. To continue preparing and delivering meals, our kitchen needs essential modifications to meet Allegheny County food, health, and safety standards. Specifically, we need to add additional sinks, drains, and traps to ensure we can keep our kitchen operational and maintain uninterrupted meal service. Without these updates, we may be forced to pause or even stop our deliveries, leaving many vulnerable neighbors without the support they rely on.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward these critical improvements, helping us keep our kitchen running and our meal deliveries moving.
