My name is Jessica Ybarra de Salmeron. On Monday, Oct 6, 2025, our life was turned upside down and my husband Rudy Salmeron was detained by Border Patrol in Kingsville, Texas. We were on our way back to Dallas when they decided to detain him even though he had all the proper paperwork. We have been working on him getting his “papers” for a while now and were told with the documents he had that we would be okay. That was not the case. They didnt care what documents we had or that he was in the process of getting a green card through our marriage. He is being detained in an Immigration Processing Center and will then be moved to Port Isabel, TX detainment center. I decided to quit my job in Dallas and relocate to South Texas to live and work so we could be closer to him and try to figure out how to reunite our family. All donations will be going to lawyer costs and expenses.

Rudy is a hardworking man who always put his family first. He was constantly looking to work more hours so he could support his family here and his family in Nicaragua. My husband still has a pathway to residency and that’s what I’m fighting for. He is a good man and an amazing father.
