Hi! My name is Ava, I’m 14 years old, and I’m raising funds for an amazing opportunity to volunteer in Zanzibar in the summer of 2027, right after I finish my GCSEs.
When I go, I’ll be 16 years old and ready to spend 10 days helping to either build a school for local children or teach in a classroom—depending on where help is most needed. This is more than just a trip; it’s a chance for me to give back, learn, grow, and be part of something truly meaningful.
Why I’m Doing This:
Education is something many of us take for granted. In Zanzibar, many children face daily challenges just to access a safe learning environment. Being part of a project that helps improve their opportunities—by building classrooms or teaching—is something I’m really passionate about. I want to make a difference where I can, and this project gives me that chance.
How This Helps My Future:
Volunteering abroad will not only allow me to help others—it will also help me grow as a person. I’ll gain new skills, confidence, and an understanding of different cultures and communities. It’s a unique and valuable experience that I know will shape my future in education, career, and life.
Why I Need Your Help:
Although I’m fully committed to this journey, I need support to make it possible. I’m fundraising to cover:
• Flights and travel costs
• Accommodation
• Program fees
My fundraising goal is £2420, and every donation—no matter how big or small—will bring me closer to making this dream a reality.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. If you’re able to support me financially, I’ll be forever grateful. If not, sharing this campaign with friends and family means a lot too. I’ll be posting updates on my preparations, my time in Zanzibar, and everything you helped make possible.
With lots of gratitude,
Ava.
