Hello my name is Jia Trescott. I am sixteen years old and was adopted from ZhuZhou Hunan, China when I was twenty two months old in 2002. I was lucky enough to be adopted into a family that was able to provide me with the love, support, and resources I needed to overcome developmental delays. Since overcoming those delays I have had a life goal of returning to China to help impaired orphans.

This summer I have been given the opportunity to fulfill that goal. I am so excited to be one of 10 adoptees who was chosen by OneSky to volunteer at the ChunHui China Care Home in Beijing. ChunHui China Care Home is a private, temporary care home for orphaned children with special medical needs. For two weeks I will be assisting the nannies in providing day to day care for the children, including playing games, singing songs, talking to the children, holding babies, and helping feed the children.

I need your help to reach my goal. I have been babysitting and have applied to bag groceries at Publix but my advanced Cambridge studies leave me very little time to work. I need 1800 dollars to attend the two week session and about 2000 dollars for airfare to and from China.  I also need to raise money for the care home so any extra money over $3800 I will donate to ChunHui China Care Home.
