I am teacher Abdul Rahman Al-Assar from the Gaza Strip. I am married with two children, and my wife is a housewife.

Before the crisis in Gaza, we were living in good conditions, and I worked as a general science teacher for middle school. Since the start of the crisis, we have faced many challenges and difficulties.

A large part of our house was destroyed, making it uninhabitable. We had to move and live in temporary shelters in Rafah, facing harsh living conditions. My wife was pregnant with our daughter, Massa, during this time. We struggled even to get basic needs such as water or use proper sanitation. Every day brought fear from the uncertain situation, the cold, and rain entering our shelter.

Providing for our children was extremely difficult. At one point, I was injured and had to leave Gaza to receive medical treatment. I am now in Italy, while my wife is still in Gaza, where she gave birth after I had to leave. I have never seen my 1-year-5-month-old daughter, who is underweight due to malnutrition, and my 4-year-old son Owais is also suffering.

We lost our home, our belongings, and many family members and friends. We are in debt and struggling to rebuild our lives.

We hope to resume our lives safely and provide a better future for our children. The support we seek is to reunite my family, rebuild our home, and secure a safe and dignified life for our children, as well as help our family who are still living under very difficult conditions.
