Hello! My name is Alexis!

In July 2027, I’m hoping to travel to Peru for four weeks with Camps International, where I’ll have the opportunity to work alongside local communities on projects that can make a lasting difference.

During my expedition, I’ll be helping with community projects in the Sacred Valley region of Peru. These could include improving schools and classrooms, renovating homes, supporting sanitation projects and helping with conservation efforts such as planting trees.

I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to help improve learning environments for children and support families in rural communities, while learning about Peruvian culture and the people who live there.

Why this expedition means so much to me

I’ll be the only student from my school taking part, which makes this an especially big adventure for me!

I’ll be travelling somewhere completely new, meeting people I don’t know and stepping outside my comfort zone. I’m hoping this experience will help me become more confident, independent and better prepared for the future.

I also love animals and nature, so the opportunity to learn about conservation and experience Peru’s incredible environment is something I’m really looking forward to.

As part of the expedition, I’ll also be taking on the challenge of trekking through the Andes to Machu Picchu, which I imagine will be one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life!
