Our Communities Need Urgent Help
Hi everyone,
My name is Vennice Stewart, and I was born in the beautiful community of Bronte, Westmoreland, a place that shaped my values, my faith, and my love for people. Growing up there taught me the true meaning of unity — how neighbors become family, and how even in hard times, we lift each other up.
Later in life, I moved to Darliston, another warm and close-knit community that welcomed me with open arms. These two places — Bronte and Darliston — along with our neighboring communities of Bog, New Works, and Kilmarnock, have always been connected by friendship, shared history, and the spirit of togetherness.
Today, that spirit is being tested. Hurricane Melissa has left a trail of devastation across our region. Families have lost homes, crops, and loved ones. Roads are damaged, and many people are struggling to find basic necessities like food, clean water, and shelter.
I’ve started this GoFundMe to help bring relief and hope to these communities — to provide emergency supplies, assist with rebuilding efforts, and ensure that no one is left behind. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward helping families get back on their feet and restoring the places I once called home.
These communities raised me, shaped me, and supported me through life. Now, it’s my turn to give back. Your support, whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign, will make a real difference.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with Bronte, Darliston, Bog, New Works, and Kilmarnock. Together, we can rebuild and rise stronger than ever.
How Your Donations Will Help
Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
• The purchasing of emergency supplies: food, clean drinking water, clothing, hygiene products, baby formula, and bedding
• Buying materials for temporary housing: support for families whose homes were damaged or destroyed.
• Cleanup and rebuilding efforts: providing tools, building materials, and volunteer coordination
• Support for vulnerable residents: the elderly, single parents, and those who’ve lost their livelihoods due to the storm.
I myself will be buying and packing barrels of imperishable food, first aid kits, clothing, toiletries, bedsheets, etc. Then I will be going to Jamaica and will be working closely with local community leaders and volunteers in Bog, Bronte, New Works, Kilmarnock, and Darliston to ensure that funds and supplies are distributed fairly and transparently.
Together, We Can Rebuild
Westmoreland is a proud and resilient parish, and our people have always looked out for one another. But after the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, we need your help more than ever.
Every contribution, big or small, will make a real difference in helping families get back on their feet. If you’re unable to donate, please share this campaign with your network — spreading the word is just as powerful.
I am committed to full transparency. Regular updates, photos, and progress reports will be shared here as relief efforts continue — including details on how funds are spent and which areas have received assistance.
All funds will go directly toward local relief and rebuilding efforts in Bronte, Bog, New Works, Darliston, and Kilmarnock.
❤️ Thank You for Your Support
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping the people of Westmoreland rebuild and recover. Your kindness brings hope to families who need it most.
With gratitude,
Vennice Stewart
