My name is Christy and myself and my family are heading to Lesotho in November with One Day, an Irish-registered charity dedicated to creating loving, safe family homes for orphaned and vulnerable children. One in three children in Lesotho is orphaned, and One Day aims to provide them with loving, stable environments and the opportunity to live with dignity and hope .

What One Day is All About.

Building Homes: Small family houses in local communities, each cared for by trained, live-in house parents who nurture a family-like setting for 4–6 children .

Providing for Basic Needs: Donations go directly toward food, clothing, education and healthcare for the children.

Empowering Communities: The charity works in partnership with locals to build sustainable, community-based homes and support long-term wellbeing

How Your Support Will Help

I’ve set a goal of raising €5000 to cover project costs. We as a family will be paying for our own travel and accommodation expenses, therefore everything raised will go towards One Day. Every contribution will:

• Support the building and furnishing of additional family homes and also the renovations of current homes.

• Provide ongoing care and essential supplies for the children.

• Provide opportunities to local vulnerable children in the community, such as a youth space for the older teens.
