Hi, my name is Ava. I’m seeking help to offset medical expenses, my daughter recovery when that time comes and family support during this difficult time.

On June 22nd of this year my daughter wasn’t feeling well. Two weeks prior she was COVID positive. My daughter has preexisting conditions. She has Sickle Cell Disease and asthma. The COVID diagnosis made her conditions worse. She went to emergency room where they discovered that she had severe pneumonia. We understood that she was sick but thought she would be ok, but on June 26th at about 3AM doctors called. Our world was turned upside down when she was placed on a ventilator. This set off a whirlwind of test, blood work. Later that day doctors informed me that my daughter was experiencing heart and lung failure. She was transferred to another hospital to receive a life saving treatment known as ECMO (extracoporeal membrance oxygenation).

It was overwhelming to hear that my daughter was in such critical condition. I was in a state of shock after hearing this news. I felt so helpless and all I could do is cry. I just want to see my Babygirl smile again. It’s been 20 days and counting since I seen her smile. I want to be right by her side when her smile returns.

This has been overwhelming for our family. It has effected my family mentally, physically, emotionally and financially. I have had to relocate to be at my daughter bedside to make decisions that need to be made and to make sure she receives the care that she so in need of during this time. It’s my desire to stay put until we can return home with her. That being said I work in the construction industry. If I don’t work I don’t get paid. It’s going to be a long hospitalization and recovery for my daughter. I’m asking that if you would find it in your heart to help my family during this difficult time we would truly appreciate any help. I understand that things are hard for many people theses days. So if you can’t help in any other way please whisper a prayer for my daughter.
