Three months ago, I experienced one of the happiest moments of my life—being proposed to by my partner of five years.

It was a time filled with so much love, joy, and hope for the future. But life can be unpredictable, and just three weeks ago, during a family vacation to Ireland, everything changed.

In the midst of what was meant to be a peaceful trip, my partner ended our relationship. I was left in a hotel in Dublin, heartbroken and overwhelmed by shock and confusion. I never saw it coming. The sudden loss of a relationship so central to my life has forced me to face the deepest grief I've ever known.

Since then, I’ve had to navigate an emotional storm while figuring out my next steps in life. Amid this pain, I’ve had to find temporary places to stay and take care of our new puppy, Ru, while trying to stay grounded. These unexpected circumstances have led to thousands of dollars in unforeseen expenses—Airbnbs, pet care, and constant moving from one place to the next.

Now, as I begin to heal and reimagine my future, I’m making a bold choice to start fresh. In October, I will be moving to Montreal, where I’ll be surrounded by friends, working on my book, and finding solace in a new environment. This move, while a beacon of light on the other side, comes with significant financial challenges.
