Help Me Set Up a Sling Library For Thanet

Hi, I'm Rhiannon.

I'm a midwife, a mum, and a sling consultant living in Margate, Kent.

I want to set up a sling library for Thanet so parents- particularly those from low income households- have access to slings and carriers, and support to carry their babies safely.

I learned to carry my baby in a sling when he was 5 days old- the best parenting decision I could have made for myself.

I was supported by my local sling club in London and with their help tried out and ended up loving all kinds of carriers.

There are so many benefits to baby wearing, including that it is proven to protect and improve infant and parent mental health.

Learning to babywear can help with independence, confidence, mobility for parents, and helps babies fulfil their biological need to feel safe and close to their care giver.

Please donate so that I can begin to buy the slings needed for the library.

For £1,000 I can buy at least 20 slings (second hand), probably more, which will be a great start.
