Hi, my name’s Josiah, and I’m 13 years old.

On May 17th, I’m doing a sponsored walk to help raise money for Young Leaders Academy — a place that means a lot to me and loads of other young people like me.

Young Leaders isn’t just somewhere we go every Saturday – it’s where we get to learn about leadership, confidence, and planning for our futures. They make it fun too! We get to meet other kids from different schools and backgrounds, and I’ve made loads of new friends because of it.

Before I started coming here, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do when I was older. But now, seeing people who look like me leading and guidning us, it’s made me believe I can do anything I put my mind to.

Sadly, the charity’s funding has been cut, and if we don't raise enough money, Young Leaders Lewisham might have to close down. That would be a huge loss for everyone.

I’m walking to help keep Young Leaders open for me, my friends, and all the young people who will come after us.
