We need just 40,000 people to donate $5 each to Save The Christmas Barn in Bethlehem, PA.

My name is Dana Alyss, you may know me from my hit viral series like The Dating Hunger Games or The Ugly Friend on social media or maybe you don't know me at all.

A few years ago, I came back to my hometown of Bethlehem from working in Television in Los Angeles for 15 years. I saw the area was being taken over by developers, warehouses, and corporations. It didn't look like the home I remembered.

I started attending local meetings trying to save some of the places we were losing - a historic farm, the local drive-in, an old plant nursery, the quarry and an animal conservation area - but by the time I got involved, they had already been sold and I found out the hard way, there's not much you can do after that.

But there is one place that I hold near and dear to my heart ever since I was a child - The Christmas Barn - and for some reason, it has yet to be sold to a developer and turned into another apartment complex or medical building or bank.

The Christmas Barn was a beloved, year-round holiday and gift destination located in the Township of Bethlehem, PA. The iconic local store shuttered its doors in March 2007 after nearly 50 years of operation following the retirement of its owners and has sat vacant for years, but it's up for sale and I want to try to buy it before a rich developer who wants to knock it down for apartments comes around.

If you know me, you know I love Christmas. And we live in Bethlehem, PA Christmas City, USA so there is no better place to do this. And there's no better way to make a Hallmark Christmas movie plot a reality than to save a Christmas Barn with history in the tri-state area.

My plan is to try to buy and revitalize it to its Christmas Barn glory. I have a solid business plan and have been shown the property. I will need roughly $200,000 for a downpayment on a loan to buy the nearly $2M property. My hope is to turn the Barn back into a year-round Christmas destination with holiday décor, food, events and opportunities for local businesses, while preserving a place that could otherwise become another development.

That's where I came up with this plan. 40,000 people × $5 each = $200,000. That's it. And that's only 7% of my audience.

I don't want one person to give hundreds of thousands of dollars. I want 40,000 everyday people to give $5 and then help me find the next person. Just like a Hallmark Christmas Movie community coming together to save the local business from the developers.

I have no idea if this is going to work. There are loans, inspections, zoning, construction costs and ultimately an owner who has to accept an offer. I can't guarantee the ending. But I know what happens if nobody tries.

So here I am, asking for your help.
