Hi, my name is Emmagene. I am a mother of three very young children, including a 12-week-old infant. This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but I am asking for help so I can safely leave my current situation and create a stable life for my children.
Over time, my relationship has become defined by control, abuse, and repeated infidelity. The environment in our home has become unpredictable and, at times, volatile. I have done everything I could to make things work, but I can no longer justify keeping my children in a situation where their stability and safety are at risk. I am the full-time caregiver to my children, and at this time, working outside the home is not possible. My youngest is a breastfed infant who cannot be separated from me for extended periods, and one of my children has chronic medical conditions, including seizures and a congenital heart condition. Because of her medical needs, traditional childcare facilities are not equipped to safely care for her. In order for me to eventually return to work, I will need to secure a trained, in-home caregiver with experience in seizure response and medically complex children, which comes at a significantly higher cost than standard childcare.
