Help me Run the NYC Marathon w. Legal Aid Society!

Hello friends and family!

 

I’m excited to announce that I will be running in the 2022 New York City Marathon as a member of the Legal Aid Society’s team. The Legal Aid Society is one of the largest, most influential social justice organizations in New York City, working in and out of the courtroom to defend their clients and advocate for systemic change.

 

Ever since I watched the NYC Marathon as a kid with my parents and grandmother in Brooklyn, it has been a lifetime wish to do the race through the five boroughs. I began endurance running as a way to cope with the loss of my father in April 2020; the routine brought with pushing myself physically and mentally far beyond my comfort zone brought newfound peace in the face of grief and the wilds our society has gone through collectively in the past two years.

 

It would be an immense honor to be able to run the New York City Marathon -- my first -- through the streets my father grew up on. The marathon would also be the first step in another life goal of mine: to run the six Major World Marathon Majors (New York, Chicago, London, Berlin, Tokyo, and Boston). 

 

I am asking for your help to assist me in reaching my goal of $3,250!  With your support, the Legal Aid Society can continue to provide tireless representation to those wrongfully convicted and work towards reimagining the treatment of and care for young people connected to the criminal justice and foster care systems. Any amount that you can give would be very appreciated!
