My name is Skeeter, and I am a mother living alone in London. I am asking for help with something that means more to me than anything else in the world: being reunited with my 17-year-old son, who is currently living in India.

For around four years, I have had to live apart from my child. Every day, I wake up knowing that he is thousands of miles away and that I cannot be there to care for him, comfort him or guide him through the important years of his life.

Most parents can understand how painful it would be to miss the everyday moments with their child—the conversations, the laughter, the meals together and simply knowing they are safe. I have missed birthdays, milestones and precious time that I can never get back.

I am a British citizen and want to pursue the correct legal process to bring my son to live with me in the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, I have ongoing health problems that prevent me from working. I currently depend on Universal Credit for my essential living expenses, which leaves me unable to afford the immigration, legal, document and travel costs involved.

It is difficult for me to ask others for help, but I have reached a point where I cannot do this alone.

The money raised will help me pay for regulated immigration advice, application and processing fees, supporting documents, certified translations and travel costs if my son receives permission to come to the UK.

I understand that no visa or immigration application can be guaranteed. This fundraiser is to give me the opportunity to obtain proper professional advice and follow every lawful step available to reunite my family.

My son is still young and needs his mother. I want to give him a safe and stable home, support his future and finally be present in his life again. I do not want any more years to pass with us living so far apart.
