A Father’s Plea: Help Me Reunite With My Daughter
I haven’t seen my daughter since April 2025 — not because I don’t want to, but because her mother has completely cut me off from contact, even though I still legally have shared parental rights.
My daughter is over 10 years old. She loves me deeply and has always wanted to be with me. But now she is being kept away from me, isolated, and I have no way to even know how she is doing.
Before she was taken, I had regular contact with her: Tuesdays, Thursdays after school, and every other weekend. We shared a beautiful bond — we laughed, cooked together, played, and had meaningful conversations. She often didn’t want to return to her mother after staying with me. I was once told our relationship was “too good.”
I’ve reported everything to the police, but they can’t help. No crime has been committed — it must be resolved in family court. And court costs are simply overwhelming.
⚖️ The Legal Struggle
I’ve already spent nearly £3,000 trying to fight for my daughter — and the case hasn’t even reached court yet. The estimated full cost could reach £20,000 or more.
I’ve had to pay for legal letters, mediator appointments (even though my ex refused to mediate), and retainers.
The first solicitor didn’t contact me for two weeks.
The second solicitor kept going on holiday, delaying things further.
I had to pay upfront for every step, and the bills keep coming. Now I’ve run out of money.
️ My Current Situation
I’m a single dad with a stable job, but after our separation, I became homeless and now live in a small council flat. Even with reduced rent, I live month to month — barely scraping by. I also pay child support every month, even though I’m not allowed to see my daughter.
When my daughter is finally allowed to return home, I won’t even be able to afford new clothes or shoes for her — the ones she left at my place months ago no longer fit. She has brand-new shoes waiting here that I can’t even give her.
She dreams of simple things — like going to the cinema, taking trips, maybe even one day visiting Disneyland. But right now, those dreams feel impossibly far away.
A Year of Bad Luck
This year has been a relentless series of misfortunes.
Just before my daughter was taken, my phone broke — I had to buy a new one.
On the day I visited my first solicitor, I had a serious car accident — my car was completely written off.
I used all my savings to buy a replacement, just so I could keep getting to work.
And three weeks ago, my phone broke again, beyond repair. I had to buy another one.
Each blow has chipped away at my ability to stay afloat — and now I’m sinking.
What I Need
I need help funding the legal process so I can fight for my daughter in court. Every donation — no matter how small — brings me closer to holding her again.
If you are a solicitor in the UK and are willing to help pro bono, please reach out. This isn’t about money — it’s about a child’s right to be with both parents.
I’m doing everything I can, but I’m completely alone. If I can’t raise enough funds for legal help, I’ll be forced to represent myself — without any legal training, facing an experienced lawyer. The chances are that I’ll lose my daughter for good.
❤️ Why This Matters
This isn’t just about a legal case — this is about a little girl who misses her dad. About a father who’s doing everything in his power not to disappear from her life.
Please, help me bring her home.
