Help Me Reunite with my Alienated Kids

Three years ago I began the process of divorcing my narcissistic, emotionally abusive ex-husband. Shortly after, he began a campaign of denigration trying his best to turn my kids against me and alienate me from their lives completely. With exaggerated and false accusations, he has whittled down my parenting time to only a few hours per week and now wants to move our kids across the country.

After tens of thousands of dollars of my own and filing for bankruptcy, in the fall of 2023 I had no choice but to give up my attorney and represent myself. I was successful in having the court order reunification therapy with my children, but my ex-husband is attempting to prevent it. He has the financial means to continue dragging on the custody battle for a long time. With his recent threats to move, knowing that he would never give me his new address, and risking not having contact with my kids until they reach adulthood, I knew I would need to lawyer up to continue the fight.

With a $10,000 loan from my immediate family, I've been able to retain one of the best divorce attorneys in the county. The money I raise from this Go Fund Me will go towards paying back this generous loan and pay court and lawyer fees in excess of the $10,000 retainer. In the last month, lawyer fees have been approximately $12,000 which includes the cost of getting the new lawyer up to speed on the case. Anticipated costs are within $1,500-2,000 per month at least for the next few months of scheduled court appearances.

Regardless of the outcome of the children's placement, my number one goal is to maintain a positive relationship with them with regular contact wherever they are. Unfortunately, this is something that I've had to fight very hard to maintain. I have been denied regular phone calls, the ability to send them home with gifts, the ability to bring them in into my home. This denied contact with them occurs at the same time that they are exposed to denigrating and slanderous information about me.

I've worked long and hard to keep fighting for what is best for my kids. I believe that children deserve to have a relationship with both of their parents. I fight against the children living with their Dad full time where they have been exposed to daily drama. Most importantly, I am fighting to have a positive role in their lives, communicate with them regularly and support them and their interests as their mom.
