As some of you may know, I spent the last decade as the full-time caregiver for my mother. Sadly, she recently passed away. When I lost her, I didn't just lose my anchor and my rock—I lost my livelihood. That sudden disruption in income led to my eviction, leaving me actively homeless, scared, and facing a very rough road back to normalcy.

However, I finally have a lifeline. After the new year rolled around, the agency I previously worked for reached out with a new client who needs care. I leapt at the chance to get back to work, only to hit an immediate roadblock: my CPR certification has lapsed. The company holds a certification class, but it requires payment upfront and cannot be deducted from my first paycheck. I simply cannot start working until I get certified again. I’ve attempted to donate plasma and reach out to friends, but I’ve come up empty on all fronts. This campaign is truly my last-ditch effort to get back on my feet.

I am only asking for enough funds to cover the exact costs of getting back to work:

-the required CPR certification class,

-appropriate work clothes from Goodwill,

-a 30-day bus pass so I can reliably commute,

- basic groceries to hold me over until I collect my first paycheck. I am so ready to work and get my life back on track. Absolutely anything you can contribute to help me clear this final hurdle would be so deeply appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
