My name is Abid, and I’m an Uber driver living in Winnipeg, Canada.

I’m asking for your help to rescue my wife from Afghanistan — a place that has become a prison for her.

She was just two months away from graduating from medical school when the Taliban took over. Overnight, she lost everything. She’s no longer allowed to speak in public, go outside alone, or even finish her education. She is now under Taliban surveillance and lives in constant fear.

My family worked with the Canadian and U.S. governments during the war. When Kabul fell, they were evacuated by the Americans. I was able to come to Canada. But my wife was left behind — the only one.

Shortly after the Taliban forced us out of our home, my wife suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage due to emotional stress and displacement. Since then, her mental and emotional health has declined severely. She lives under constant threat, without basic rights or freedom.

Under Taliban law, a woman cannot travel alone. She cannot leave the country unless accompanied by her husband or father.

To help her escape, I will need to pay $10,000 just to secure a way for her to safely leave Afghanistan.

Once she is out, I’ll need another $10,000 to support:

• Shelter and basic living costs in a third country

• Medical and psychological documentation

• Immigration and legal fees

• Flights and official paperwork

I work hard every day as an Uber driver, but I simply cannot afford this alone.
