I am reaching out today because I am facing a situation that I never expected. I am disabled and recently experienced a sewage backup in my basement. This has led to mold growing on the rafters and walls, and now I am faced with the daunting task of cleaning up, sanitizing the area, and throwing out many of my personal belongings that were damaged beyond repair. Unfortunately, my homeowners' insurance has refused to cover the costs for these essential repairs, leaving me in a very difficult position.

Because of my disabilities, including being on 24/7 oxygen for COPD and other chronic illnesses, it is not safe for me to remain in my home until these issues are resolved. The mold and unsanitary conditions pose a serious risk to my health, and I am unable to manage the cleanup and repairs on my own. As a single woman living on a very limited income, I simply do not have the resources to cover these unexpected expenses.
