I'm a student at SCAD ATL campus, and recently a fire broke out in my building, Forty. The fire was on the seventh floor and was in the room across the hall from mine. While my room wasn't directly burned, the main damage came from smoke and water. We were instructed to leave anything porous behind due to carcinogens being embedded in our belongings, which meant I had to walk away from almost everything I owned. I currently have no clothes, underwear, shoes, socks, hygiene products, art products, or supplies for my classes. Even my ESA bunny, Thumper, lost all his hay and most of his supplies, like enrichment toys, hide castle, blankets, harness, leashes, treats, and more.
This has been an incredibly difficult time for me, trying to balance the shock of losing everything with the demands of my classes and caring for Thumper. The funds I raise here will go directly toward replacing the essentials I need to get by day-to-day—clothes, shoes, medical devices for me since I have hypertension and Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia, hygiene products, and art supplies for my coursework. I’ll also be able to get food and supplies for Thumper, who means the world to me and helps me cope with everything I’m facing.
Thank you so much for showing your support and love while I’m going through this. Any help you can give will make a huge difference as I work to rebuild and continue my education.
