Help me on my mission back to Nepal

6 years ago, I spent my 17th Birthday in the beautiful town of Tarakeshwar, Nepal. With fear of sounding cliche, it was a truly life changing experience, putting me on the path I am on today.

In July 2025, it will be my 23rd Birthday, and I can think for no better way to celebrate the occasion than revisiting the country and community that brought me so much joy and made such an impact on my life today.

My mission in 2019 was to help rebuild the community after the devastating earthquakes of 2017. In all honesty, little was done to progress the builds due to a lack of communication skills from the volunteering party and the community.

I left with a feeling of frustration that the money I had raised could have somehow gone further and made more impact. I subsequently studied Social Anthropology at university, as I was struck by the idea that by putting money into a problem, without taking into consideration the nuances of the systems that are currently place, is often not the best solution.

With all this said, I would love the opportunity to take my newfound knowledge of development and humanitarianism to a place that I care for so deeply in pursuit of making a positive impact. My time spent in Nepal was one of the most transformative periods of my life, and a time where I felt truly at peace. I would love nothing more than to return- please help me do so!
