The NHS has recently updated their requirements, and now I must go through 12 self-funded rounds of IUI before they will offer any further fertility treatment. The cost of this is overwhelming. Private options are even more expensive—one round of IVF costs nearly £5,000, plus £1,300 for donor sperm.
It’s heartbreaking to watch others start families while I keep wondering, when will it be my turn? Coming from a difficult childhood, I want to break the cycle and be the loving, nurturing parent my child deserves.

• Preparing for baby as a solo parent (practical and emotional support) If there are any remaining funds, they will be placed into savings for the baby’s future—to help give them the most secure and loving start possible.
