Hi, I’m E and I’m 19. I’m raising money for me and my 16-year-old sister because we’re tired of living in this house that’s falling apart and making us sick. It’s not just uncomfortable anymore — it’s dangerous.

There’s black mold all over the bathroom and it keeps spreading. We don’t even know how far it’s gone at this point. Our ceiling is falling apart from a leak upstairs and the landlord refuses to fix any of it. We’re breathing this in every day. It’s hurting our mental and physical health and we feel stuck.

On top of that, my mom’s boyfriend busted out the front window in the middle of winter and it’s still broken. That’s a huge safety hazard, and neither of them will do anything about it. Me and my sister stay downstairs, and no one cares about what we’re dealing with down here. The backyard is so overgrown we can’t even walk back there — you literally can’t see into someone else’s yard.

I’m doing everything I can to keep it together for us, but I’m tired. My sister means everything to me. We’ve been through it — our mom was abusive, and it’s been just me and her for the past 5–6 years. We’ve had to depend on each other through all of it. I want better for her. She doesn’t deserve this. I just want us out of this situation before it gets worse.
