On Saturday, August 3, at 1am, my dog Pinkle woke me up barking and growling. When I looked outside, I saw flames in the trees above the house next door, which has been occupied by squatters. I went outside and fire trucks and police were already on scene, and officers told me to get my dogs and leave immediately. Thankfully, my house wasn’t damaged and we are safe, but the experience was a wake-up call. After several attempts to get the authorities involved with the squatters, I know I need to expedite my move to Kansas City for my safety and peace of mind.

I’m an avant-pop and experimental musician, and Kansas City offers the opportunities I need to grow. I’ve had to turn down shows because of the distance, but with my new car, I’m ready to drive into a new chapter for my music. My dogs, Moonstone and Pinkle, are my companions and creative inspiration—Pinkle has even protected us from a burglar in the past, and Moonstone brings comfort and joy every day. They’ve inspired several of my songs, and I want to give them a safer home where we can all thrive.

Funds raised will help me cover moving costs, secure a safe place to live, and settle into Kansas City so I can focus on my music and well-being. Your support will help me and my dogs start fresh in a city where I can pursue my creative dreams and live without fear.
