Help Me Make Mum’s Final Years Count – Give Her Time, Dignit
Donation protected
My name is Eden. I’m an only child, and my mum is my whole world.
Since I was 19, I’ve been working full time — ever since I was made homeless due to my mum’s mental health struggles at the time. I spent time in multiple supported living environments, moving from Barnstaple to Exmouth and eventually to Exeter, where I finally settled and found my own place. It was a hard road, but through it all, I never gave up on my mum.
After years of healing, I’ve supported her through every step of her journey in every way I can: emails, letters, appointments, trips, finances — everything. But while all of that helps, it doesn’t change the fact that she’s now been diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer.
She was first diagnosed with cervical cancer four years ago, and after fighting so hard to recover from surgery and pain, we’ve now been told it’s spread to her bones, blood, and lungs. My mum has also lived with bipolar disorder for most of her life, which makes this all the more heartbreaking — the illness is hard for her to understand, and even harder for me to explain and support when she’s unwell.
I’ve never asked for help before — not once — but now I am.
With your support, I want to fill her final years with beautiful memories. I want to help her do the things she’s always dreamed of but never could. Little adventures, peaceful moments, and meaningful time together. It’s just me and her through everything — no other family, no backup — and I want to make her last years count.
If you can help, by donating or sharing, I’ll be forever grateful.
With love,
Eden
